Just watched a beautiful story on BBC News…It is about a wonderful Indian woman who goes around the world giving hugs to EVERYONE – doesn’t matter what religion, colour, race you are… She will give you a hug. People cue for hours. Listening to the people waiting for her to give a hug… you can tell some people are really craving something….What is it? What do we want? Human connection…it’s that simple

I was at the House of Blues in Chicago on the weekend.. a pretty incredible place in a truly fantastic city. I was watching these four guys on stage… really really good players. They were so into the music, the riffing they were doing on their instruments… just great…and it struck me how many awesome musicians there are everywhere… Some of the best experiences I have had watching live music have been in a gospel church, an opera singer at a small concert singing her heart out, old Italian men busting out the local italian songs at a wedding, little African kids singing their local songs…. There are SO many talented people out there creating and playing great music who we will never hear about who just keep playing and playing simply for the joy of music. It is an incredible thing to watch. It truly inspires me
Nowadays, there is so much access to information and media content in the world…the internet/tv/social media has given us access to so so much. But even with access to everything from everywhere – it is still hard to find something that is truly great. What makes something great? In my opinion, it is something that touches and inspires me. It doesn’t happen much, but when it does happen…magic happens! When something is great… all it takes is word of mouth (which is how I got this video). Enjoy!

“To be fearless but to also be vulnerable - it’s a delicate and worthy balance”…. I was going through my notebook (which I write everything from songwriting ideas, lyrics, meeting notes, little pearls of wisdom I come up with – which apparently this was)… thinking about this more today… I realized that this applies to SO many things in life….In order to fully embrace life.. you must be fearless … but to also understand life and live all its subleties you must be vulnerable & open to real human honesty and connection. Cheers to being fearless (AND vulnerable)!!!
When you find something you love you should do it.. Just do it.. That’s the way I feel about music… From a young girl music was always something that was a huge part of my life… I couldn’t get enough of it… Even to this day – I can’t get enough of it…. Music inspires us, unites us, changes us…. More than ever music is helping us get through the rough times….Will this love affair with music ever stop?? NO WAY!!!
